We provide a comprehensive service over the telephone. We can reserve or take orders for most of our merchandise; charge goods to your account or credit card and arrange delivery; check availability and prices of stock and advise you on product specifications.

Delivery at your convenience

We understand that time is at a premium and that fitting a delivery into your busy daily schedule is not always easy. Now when you shop at Peter Jones there’s a greater choice of delivery options designed to suit you.

Free deliveries

We offer free delivery on all orders over £30 (£3 standard delivery fee on all orders under £30). Most items are posted, however for larger items our free delivery service operates as normal, delivering Monday to Friday, morning or afternoon (7am - 1pm and 3pm - 9pm). Deliveries are now made more frequently; how often we visit depends on your postcode.

Timed and Saturday deliveries

If you would prefer a more precise delivery time, or delivery on a Saturday, just choose a 2-hour period during these times:

Monday to Friday

• 7am – 1pm
• 3pm – 9pm

Saturday

• 7am – 5pm

We charge £18.50 for the 2-hour service.

Arranging your timed delivery

Just tell us the day that is most convenient when you make your purchases and we’ll use our computerised booking system to offer you a wide range of delivery times, usually between 2 and 4 days after purchase and almost always on the day of your choice.

Disposing of your old bed

Disposing of an old mattress or divan base can be a difficult and time consuming job, but Peter Jones have come up with the perfect, environmentally-friendly solution.

From now, if you buy a mattress or divan set from Peter Jones, you'll be able to have your old mattress or divan base collected and taken away for recycling, when the new one is delivered, for £23.95.

Easier shopping for disabled customers

We offer a range of services to help make Peter Jones an easier, more convenient place to shop.

• Hearing loops - please ask any of our staff for details about mobile hearing loops. Fixed loops are available at the Information Desk on the Ground floor and the Customer Service department on the Sixth floor.
• Accessible parking - Kensington and Chelsea Council provides 2 spaces for disabled permit-holders in Cadogan Gardens, Kings Road end.
• Accessible toilets - in the Basement, and on the Sixth floor near the restaurant.
• Accessible fitting rooms - In Fashions, Lingerie and Menswear.
• Wheelchairs for loan - For details please contact our Customer Collection Point on the Ground floor or ask any member of staff. To check availability please ring in advance.
• Wide access lifts - available with access to all floors at the Sloane Square end of the shop.
• Public telephone at accessible height - located at the Customer Collection Point on the Ground floor.
• Large print or audio tape - please ask our staff if you need literature in alternative formats and we will do our best to provide it.

Export and tax free shopping

Export

Our Export department offers a full range of export facilities and the staff have considerable expertise in sending consignments all over the world. We will provide a shipping agent if you wish, and deal with the insurance and necessary paperwork. Goods exported or carried personally out of the country may qualify for a tax refund.

Tax free shopping

Our tax free shopping service allows customers from outside the European Union (EU) to claim back the Value Added Tax (VAT) on purchases from the John Lewis Partnership.

Who can buy tax free?

Overseas buyers whose domicile or habitual residence is outside the European Union, and intend to leave for a destination outside the EU within three months. UK residents who send goods to friends and family living outside the EU.

What do I save?

Non-EU customers may reclaim the Value Added Tax (VAT) included in the purchase price, less an administrative charge.

Does VAT apply to all goods?

A VAT refund will be given on all merchandise except books, most food, and children`s clothes and shoes which are free of VAT, and are therefore not eligible.

What restrictions are there?

You must spend £75 or more in any John Lewis shop and travel to a country outside the European Union within three months of the first purchase date.

How do I claim my refund?

Having completed your shopping, obtain a tax free shopping form from our Export department. You will need to show your receipts and passport. The procedure for obtaining a VAT refund will then be explained to you.

How is my refund paid?

A cash refund is obtainable from the `Cash Refund Service` desk situated at most UK airports, or, if you prefer, we can arrange to credit your American Express, Diners Club, JCB (Japanese Credit Bureau), MasterCard, Visa or John Lewis account. Alternatively, a cheque is any major currency will be sent to you or someone you nominate.

Gas barbecue assembly

Gas barbecues normally require self assembly but for £30 we can assemble your barbecue prior to delivery so you can start cooking straight away.

This service is exclusive to barbecues purchased in our shops.

Note: Safety regulations do not allow us to attach gas bottle or regulator.

Getting your purchases home

If you’ve lots of shopping to do but don’t want to carry masses of bags around with you, why not ask for your purchases to be sent to Customer collections? You can then pick them up when you’re ready to go home.

Customer collections can be found on the Ground floor, behind the Linens department. You can also get to the collection point from Symons Street.

Driving? Then simply drive round to the collection point area in Symons Street, where your shopping will be brought out to you.
